Tiger's Art Journey
Tiger's Art Journey
From 2017-18 I was a part-time student tour guide. I wanted to promote art and teach middle & high school students art history knowledge through local & international museum trips. I led 12-day trips called Tiger’s Art Journey, traveling through 18 art museums in DC, Philly, NYC, and Boston areas. I also led day-trips to NYC museums like MoMA for local high school students and families in Princeton.
I partnered with local travel agencies to provide high-quality transportation, accommodations, and food services for our trip participants. Other college students, museum docents, and curators were brought on board to the project as part-time tour guides and mentors.
At a time when STEM subjects accumulate increasing popularity, I wanted to rekindle people’s passion for art and faith in humanities subjects. The venture somewhat functioned as a bridge in two senses: one that connects students with more diverse opportunities like studying abroad at partner institutions, interning at museums, and hosting exhibitions at partner galleries; and one that connects entry-level students with college art history majors, curators, and art business executives for more long-lasting impacts on the art industry.
